Molecular Spectra

Spectral lines resulting when molecules interact with electromagnetic radiation, typically at infrared wavelengths. Because molecules are usually fragile, molecular spectra are important in relatively cool objects such as planetary atmospheres, the surfaces of very cool stars, and various interstellar regions.
