Alkali Earths

Large divalent (2+) elements in the second column (from the left) of the periodic table: Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba. These elements are less reactive than the alkali metals and have higher melting points and boiling points. They are generally white, differing by shades of color or casts and are malleable, extrudable and machinable.
